Matthew Goddard 42, Investment Banker in the city. This is my 3rd consecutive London Marathon, I have chosen, to support a local cause this year for a local boy called Harvey Parry … The Harvey Parry Appeal Fund.
WHY AM I DOING THIS.
I live in Cheshunt Herts, I run a beaver Scout Group for 6/7 year olds in my spare time . As well as being a keen runner, swimmer and cyclist.
I have completed the last TWO TOUGH GUY WINTER EVENTS. I have 4 boys of my own, aged from 3-9 years old and I am married to Kate. Being a dad of 4 small boys and running this club brings it close to home how kids want to just have fun be comfortable and play, Harvey being a double above knee amputee as a kid you really do need the best legs that money can buy.
One of my sons Maximus is exactly the same age as Harvey, they even act the same typical 4 year old. You know their little ways.
Maximus was born with a condition, that could of caused him to be very ill and this has brought Harvey's illness and plight of the Meningitis Meninigococal Septicaemia, close to me.
I met Harvey on Sunday 7th February 2010 at his home where he was jumping and riding up and down my legs and bum shuffling doing cartwheels and handstands in his front room just like my kids do………and I thought , why not do this for him, his a tiny little thing that needs legs that cost a awful lot for the best that’s available .
I first read about Harvey in the advertiser and had applied for the marathon when I was gifted a place on the marathon. I thought home from home, I can do something to help someone else Harvey's a local boy local cause let me help Harvey's plight and family,
If your in a position to help people then you do it.
That’s where I come in. You can help provide new legs for Harvey by sponsoring me or making a
donation to the Harvey-Parry Appeal. This can be done either by sending a cheque or via the Paypal button on the left.. All the details are below. Please remember that, just like the advert, every little helps
I am probably Mr outdoors after all someone's got to step up to the plate, things don’t happen if nobody volunteers nothing happens …so I felt yes, I can help Harvey, his only 4. He wants to play like other kids like my boys mess about run, hop, do jumping things he needs the best legs available.
Support Harvey sponsor me. Matthew Goddard to do this Marathon and lets get the cost of his next set of legs incidentally he has running legs for playing cost with training £34,000 and walking legs for every day walking cost £25,0000 .00 they only last 6 - 8 months as his a growing lad…
